Campaigns
The Young Greens are involved in many campaigns throughout Ireland putting activism at the heart of our existence.
Our latest and current campaigns are...
No To Fracking!
We are totally opposed to Fracking in Ireland and will be actively campaigning against any licenses for its use on this island and are campaigning against the licenses to explore the potential of hydraulic fracturing for gas in South West Fermanagh, Cavan, Leitrim, Sligo and Roscommon.
Third Level Fees
The Young Greens played a huge role in stopping the reintroduction of third level fees. We pushed the Green Party to secure a commitment that there would no introduction of a student "contribution" in the renewed programme for government during their time in Government.
Marriage Equality The Young Greens have always supported the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people to full marriage equality. While we support the Civil Partnership Bill as a step in the right direction, we campaign for an end to discrimination based on the sexuality of a person. The Green Economy and Students www.younggreens.ie/greengeneration - Take a look at our campaign page for our 'Green Generation' publication which highlights the benefits of the green economy and the job opportunities being created for graduates as a result of green economics.
